Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 15, 2026
Overview
AlphaEdit is a free, browser-based file editing and conversion tool. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
File Processing
Your files never leave your device. All file editing, conversion, and processing happens entirely in your web browser using client-side JavaScript. We do not upload, store, or have access to any files you edit or convert on AlphaEdit.
Data We Collect
We do not collect personal information, and we do not require you to create an account. The only data collected is:
- Analytics: We use Vercel Speed Insights to measure page load performance. This collects anonymous, aggregated performance metrics only — no personal data or file contents.
- Advertising: We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ad Settings.
Cookies
AlphaEdit itself does not set cookies. However, third-party services (Google AdSense) may set cookies for ad personalization. You can control cookie preferences in your browser settings.
Local Storage
We use your browser's local storage to save your theme preference (light/dark mode) and recent file history (file names and types only — never file contents). This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to any server.
Third-Party Services
- Google AdSense — advertising
- Vercel — hosting and performance analytics
Children's Privacy
AlphaEdit does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
